A Special Place to Stay
Fermyn Woods Hall has its origins in the 14th Century but the main part of the house was built in the 17th and 18th Centuries and that sense of history has been captured perfectly by the restoration work that hosts David and Mary Laing have carried out over the last four years.
The central entrance hall with magnificent carved oak staircase gives way to the spacious living rooms furnished with mellow antiques and warmed by log fires. The bedrooms are full of character and beautifully furnished and have en suite or private bathrooms. The views from all the bedrooms are wonderful taking in 350 acres where Longhorn cattle, Swaledale sheep and competition horses now graze. Locally sourced meat and seasonable vegetables are expertly prepared and served in either the Victorian kitchen or more formal dining room.
